It is funny how quickly things can change. I sat down to start this post several hours ago and had a bit of trouble starting. A few short hours later and I am full of things to talk about. First, I started to research how to become a designer on Ravelry. Now, I have published my first pattern, Sweet Sprout. It should be live on Ravelry tomorrow. I am a perfectionist and want to review it one (two?) more times for typos before making it available. While writing the pattern I heard a noise outside my office window. I looked out and saw a deer less than 20 feet away. City people get Peeping Toms. I get Peeping Deer. Such is the country life.
Cottage Covets: I received an e-mail from Knit Picks this week advertising their new Cotton Linen blend yarn Lindy Chain. I have had a pattern idea for some time and have been looking for a summer yarn to knit it in. Serendipity? I think so. I'm coveting Lindy Chain. Probably in Swan and Bluebell. |
Tranquil Home: I went to visit a friend yesterday and on the way home took a moment to just be grateful for where I live. Since moving here I have more of an appreciation for things in general. I find myself valuing my spare time more. Wanting more of a connection to everything in my life, local food sources and being aware of the beauty around me. I find myself being thankful and stopping to smell both the proverbial and literal roses more often. Its a good life.
Getting needled: The Leaf Blanket is finished! It went off to its new home, to be a warm welcome for my coworkers new addition. I designed a hat to go with it, called Sweet Sprout. It is a very quick knit, about 2 hours for me from start to finish. The pattern is available on Ravelry and I hope it keeps many wee heads warm. |
Lets make a toast: Today in my glass is a lovely Pinot Grigio from Tisdale. A light, refreshing California wine which would be perfect with light dishes. I love its lightness and citrus notes. So lets drink a toast to gratitude. For being thankful for where you are right now, in this moment. To appreciating family and friends, and enjoying a life well lived. Cheers!
