The Shenandoah Valley is an amazing place to live and I feel very fortunate to call this paradise my home. I moved here from the outskirts of Washington D.C. where the hustle of daily life was something I was eager to leave. I grew up in the suburbs but had many memories of my grandparent's farm and my early life in the country setting. As I got older I found myself longing for the simpler things in life. In early 2011, I met my husband and found a kindred spirit. We were both longing for the same thing. A peaceful change of pace, a tranquil change of scenery and be it luck or fate, in February 2014, we found the Cottage.
We agree, this is not our "forever home", but it is perfect for where we are in life. It is small, with pine floors and large windows. Rustic wide windowsills and pine timbers for the loft supports. My favorite times are knitting while watching the plethora of wild birds visit our feeders and at night, lying with the windows open to the cool breeze, letting the insect symphony lull me to sleep. Right now, the cottage is the only place I want to be.
Welcome to Tranquil Cottage Knits. I hope you enjoy your visit.
